Dr. Sykes received his B.S. degree from Texas A&M University and his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio; graduating Magna Cum Laude. He completed a postdoctoral program in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry at UTHSCSA and received certification in IV sedation. Dr. Sykes is a member of the American Dental Association, the Texas Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Dr. Sykes worked as an associate doctor for one year before opening his own practice in June 2003 in Bulverde. As a Bulverde/Spring Branch area resident, he looks forward to many more years serving his community.

Dr. Sykes is on the board of the Bulverde Bowling Club and a member of the Bulverde/Spring Branch Chamber of Commerce. He enjoys spending time with his wife and their daughter, Barrett, as well as fishing and hunting.

Ashley joined the Bulverde Hills Dental team in July 2011. She is very thankful to be part of such an amazing staff. She graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 2008 with a Bachelors of Science Degree in Dental Hygiene. She is extremely passionate about her career and enjoys working with patients of all ages. She looks forward to continuing to establish genuine relationships with her patients as she helps them to improve their oral health. She currently lives in San Antonio and enjoys working in the Bulverde community. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, attending church, and being outdoors. She looks forward to meeting you and building a lasting relationship with you.

Megan joined the Bulverde Hills Dental team in February of 2009. She received her education from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio and could not be more thrilled about her career choice. She enjoys touching the lives of others through oral health care education and individualized patient care. She lives in San Antonio with her cute dog, Lolah, and in her spare time she enjoys getting together with friends and family, exercising through pilates or yoga, and attending church. She feels blessed to work with such great people and patients and looks forward to welcoming new ones into our dental home! 

Sara attended the San Antonio College of Medical and Dental Assistants. She received her certification as a registered dental assistant in 2005. Sara enjoys making her patients feel comfortable and is dedicated in helping provide quality dental care. She enjoys working in the Bulverde community. With her outgoing spirit, she enjoys filling her spare time with fun and laughter among family and friends.

YaLanda went to the Dental Assistants Training School of San Antonio and graduated in 2002. She joined the Bulverde Hills Dental team in December 2010. She loves working with the new team. She enjoys being a dental assistant because she likes to interact with the patients, getting to know new people on a daily basis. She lives in Canyon Lake. She has three beautiful daughters: Taylor, Alexis, and Allie. Her husband works for Munters Corporation in Selma. In her spare time she likes to watch all of her girls play volleyball and softball as well as any other sports they play.

Karen is our detail-oriented insurance coordinator who has been with Bulverde Hills Dental since August 2007. She graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and taught for ten years prior to entering the dental field. She gained her insurance knowledge and experience while working at Pennsylvania Blue Shield and two other dental offices. Karen lived overseas for ten years; traveling throughout Europe, Panama, and Chile. She and her son, Kyle, moved to Texas five years ago. In her spare time, Karen enjoys gardening, reading, and playing with her dog, Gracie, and cat, Micky.

Rebecca is our friendly and cheerful receptionist and scheduling coordinator. She will help you find convenient appointments for your dental needs. She has been in the dental field since 2000 and with Bulverde Hills Dental since February 2008. Rebecca believes customer service is the highest priority in addition to excellent patient care! She enjoys camping and spending time with  her husband and 3 children. Her children keep her busy with school activities & sports.

Erika is in charge of varying administrative duties including billing, payroll, and technology. She also assists Rebecca and Karen with insurance and scheduling responsibilities. She strongly believes in making all decisions based on “what is best for the patient”. After ten years in education, Erika joined her husband, Dr. Sykes. Erika and Dr. Sykes enjoy living and working in the Bulverde/Spring Branch community. She is very involved with the Bulverde Spring Branch Area Chamber of Commerce and was honored to be named “2008 Young Citizen of the Year” and to have Bulverde Hills Dental named "October 2008 Member of the Month". She and Dr. Sykes enjoy spending time with their daughter, Barrett, and all of their animals.
